Hosts and hostesses will again be using Priscilla’s Kitty Grass this year for their Easter table centerpieces and other home decorating.
“People who don’t have pets and wouldn’t normally use our kitty grass often buy it during this time of year,” said Priscilla Riggs, founder and owner of Priscilla’s Kitty Grass. “Because we use barley in our special blend, and because barley leaves are more broad and full, decorators like to use the grass for a more appealing display. And, whether they buy the growing grass or the seed packets, the grass are easy to maintain,” she added. It looks beautiful in any Easter basket instead of the “fake” grass often used. It is an inexpensive way to bring “Life” to a decorated basket. Grow PR’s special blend in a container that will fit into your basket or right in the basket. Use a decorative Easter pick and add some candied or colored eggs. If you are not up to growing it yourself, you can buy a container of the already growing Priscilla’s, take it out of our container and it will fit into any basket or centerpiece idea you can think of. It will make a lovely natural Easter decoration for your home or as a gift.

Priscilla’s Kitty Grass is the original all natural kitty grass containing Priscilla’s special blend of four sprouted grain types. Riggs and her staff use only fancy grade and re-cleaned grains to grow and hand package the grass in the fresh air and sun of southern coastal California.
“We use a special blend of oats, wheat, rye, and a large portion of barley, which has the most protein, and is the most tender, sweetest and easiest to digest of any of the grains,” said Riggs. “Our customers tell us they appreciate the fact that we use very little wheat, as they find wheat grass can be too ‘hot’ or ‘rich’ for their animals, causing diarrhea,” she added.
Priscilla’s Kitty Grass blend (or PR’s special blend) was originally developed over 6 years ago to help cat owners prevent fur balls. “If cats eat The Priscilla’s regularly, they will not have fur balls.” It is also a healthier alternative for pet owners whose animals often feast on grass and plants. “Cats and dogs instinctively chew and eat grass and plants to obtain the vitamins, minerals and live enzymes often lacking in their diets and to aid their digestion,” she says. “However, most grasses in the outdoors are tough, with chemicals and dust on them, which can cause animals to become sick,” she explained. “Over 150 house plants are poisonous to cats. Some of them are: the azalea, mums, cyclamen, some philodendrons and lilies.” She says.
Since first introducing her Special Blend of Kitty Grass in 1993, Priscilla has learned from her customers that they are also providing PR’s Special Blend for their appreciative birds, dogs, horses, chinchillas, guinea pigs, hamsters, iguanas, tortoises and turtles. Priscilla has added more pet-friendly products for her customers. The full product line includes grass and seeds, catnip/treats, supplies, planters, accessories, toys/exercisers and clothing.
