FAQ on Our Pet Grass
Is Priscilla’s Pet Grass like regular grass?
The grass in your yard is very different from our Pet grass; regular outdoor grass is very tough, dusty and most often it is sprayed with pesticides and fertilizers to help it grow. There is little nutritional value and it is difficult for them to digest the fertilizers. Also pesticides can be toxic to pets causing all kinds health related problems.
Priscilla’s Pet Grass is a unique blend of seed: a 100% natural combination of Barley, Oats, Wheat and Rye. Barley grass contains the most protein, vitamins and minerals. It is very tender, sweet and the easiest to digest of all seed. We are proud to say our Pet Grass is safe, clean, 100% organic and always home grown.

My cat goes outside and eats the grass in the yard. Is that OK?
It is not a good idea to allow your pet to eat outdoor grass; the grass in your yard is very coarse, tough and sprayed with pesticides/fertilizers. It also has small sharp barbs that grow on the stems/blades of outdoor grass; these barbs will irritate your pet’s throat and esophagus, thus causing them to cough up the grass within twenty to thirty minutes of ingesting.
What is the difference between Priscilla’s Pet Grass and regular Wheat Grass?
Commercial wheat grass is grown in hothouses in order to quicken the growth process, which can be detrimental to the longevity of the plant. Wheat Grass alone is generally used as a colonic and is far too rich for most animals to digest properly; pets that eat too much wheat grass often get diarrhea. Small or young animals will dehydrate quickly and will die as a result.
Priscilla’s proven combination uses only a small amount of wheat grass which is best for your animal’s overall nutritional health and well-being.
How is the grass grown?
California. The seed are all re-cleaned, and then mixed with organic soil, placed in 4” x 4” sleeves. Each individual 4” x 4” Pet Grass container will sprout and grow in the natural sunshine and fresh air for maximum benefits. The sprouting/growing process takes approximately a week to ten days, and then the grass is mature enough to be sold. Priscilla’s Pet grass is always fresh; we have found that: Fresh is Best…
